State of Iowa
We coached the state's Chief Information Officer in his vision and tactical plans to create a customer service oriented culture within the Information Technology Department. We supported the governor's "Reinvent Iowa" strategy as part of the Public Strategies Group team, and then directly through the Department of Administrative Services. We trained and facilitated more than 30 work teams, enabling them to redesign their daily processes using our Zoom For Change program. This greatly reduced waste and optimized other resources required by those processes while also enhancing customer service to citizens statewide.

ADDITIONAL PROJECTS
City of Lake Oswego Sustainability Advisory Board
Jean Baumann chaired the inaugural year of the board established to advise and engage the city and community in sustainability. The board influenced City Council goals and city budget, policies, and programs to incorporate a sustainability lens; trained the City Council and all other boards on sustainability fundamentals; created the first annual Sustainability Action Month with 21 community education events; and guided the planning for a Community Sustainability Plan.
The Climate Project
Jean Baumann was selected and trained by Vice President Al Gore as one of 2,000 volunteer presenters worldwide. She gave over thirty free presentations of Gore's slideshow from An Inconvenient Truth on climate change, connecting it to the context of sustainability and tailoring each presentation to the audience's interests. She followed each presentation with a dialog session to help participants identify actions they would take to reduce their contributions to greenhouse gas emissions both at work and home.
Sustainable Today
As the television show's host, Jean Baumann recruited, prepared, and interviewed the studio guests for this professionally produced cable access program with national distribution. Topics ranged from recycled fashion, to freshwater scarcity, permaculture, and smart transportation. She produced the "Go Green With Jean" segments to demonstrate how to put sustainability principles into practice in everyday life choices.
